Early German Faux-Grained Salon with Mauve Velvet Upholstery
This set, with its attractive work of wooden cut and frieze, is in rosewood finish enhanced with gilt paper decoration.
The set comprises two balloon-back chairs and one sofa upholstered with exceptionally preserved mauve velvet and enhanced with gilt paper trim, a round pedestal table, a glazed-door cabinet with beaded edging and floral paper trim on the shelves and a pier mirror.
The chairs are 3 7/8"(9.8 cm) high; sofa 4 7/8"(12.5 cm) long; glazed-door cabinet 5 3/4"(14.7 cm) high, 4 1/2"(11.5 cm) wide; table 3 1/4"(8.2 cm) in diameter.
Excellent condition - light fading on velvet upholstery, more visible with flash on pictures than in reality.
