French Salon with Rare Buffet with Shevings - By Louis Badeuille Firm
This beautiful wooden salon comprises 9 pieces varnished in honey tones and enhanced with gilt paper to simulate inlays : an oval pedestal table, four chairs with original green upholstery and fringe trim, a splendid buffet hutch with a scalloped front and two scalloped shelves as well as two opening doors with original knob, a jardiniere, a stand shelf, and a rare fireplace with ormolu clock, original mirror and plants.
Chairs are 4 3/8"(11 cm) high, the buffet is 8 1/2"(21.7 cm) high and 5 7/8"(15 cm) wide, the fireplace is 7 5/8"(19.5 cm) high and 5 1/8"(13 cm) wide, the table is 5 1/2"(14 cm) long and 2 1/2"(6.3 cm) high.
Very good condition - Chairs fabrics lightly discoloured due to different light exposures. Small lack at the back of the jardiniere. Repair to leg of one chair and console.
The dinner service in turned and painted wood is German. It is very attactive with its decorative floral motive, usual paint lost.
