Manorial French Salon with Blue Silk Upholstery and Great Decoupage - by Badeuille
This rare set of French furnishings by Badeuille of light wood with natural finish is richly decorated with abundant embossed gilt and blue paper to simulate hand-painted or inlay designs. Beautiful cut-work edging on wood with embossed upholstery in blue silk.
The set with superb decoupage trim comprises a fire place with attached gilded metal mantel clock and two plants pots, a generous jardiniere, a harpsichord-spinet with paper keys and piano sheet, five armchairs, a comfortable settee with two cushions, a turtle-top shaped table with pedestal base covered with original blue silk.
Armchairs are 7 1/2"(19 cm) high. Sofa is 10 1/4"(26 cm) wide, 7 1/4"(18.3 cm) high and 3 1/2"(9 cm) deep. The spinet is 7 5/8"(19.5 cm) wide and 6 1/2"(16.5 cm) high. The fireplace is 8 "(20.4 cm) wide - 9 1/4"(23.5 cm) high including the mantel clock. The table is 7 1/4"(18.3 cm) long and 4 "(10.3 cm) high.
Excellent condition. Some arms of armchairs are re-glued, one part is missing. Legs of sofa are replacements.
